Two-wheeler used in murder of Suvendu aide traced to Burnpur address
Police have seized the two-wheeler allegedly used by the assailants in the murder of Chandranath Rath, personal assistant to Suvendu Adhikari.

Police killed two criminals from Rajasthan in an encounter after they took a businessman hostage and robbed him in Mathura. Identified as Dharamveer alias Lambu (35) and Rajendra alias Pappu (55), the duo were members of the Babariya gang and each carried a reward of Rs 50,000. They, along with five accomplices, had robbed businessman Ajay Agarwal’s home.
According to police, on the night of April 23, they entered Ajay Agarwal’s house through the roof, tied Ajay Agarwal, his father, wife, and their six-year-old daughter with ropes, took the locker keys at gunpoint and then plundered the house for approximately two and a half hours.

After the incident, SSP Shlok Kumar formed 17 teams to search for the robbers. Police received information that the robbers were near the Yamuna Expressway. The police established a cordon and a search area. At 7 am on Thursday, two suspects arrived on a motorcycle. When the police signaled them to stop, the riders took a U-turn and fled. During the incident, their motorcycle lost control and fell.

Fearing arrest, they opened fire on the police. In response, the police returned fire. Both criminals were injured. The police took them to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead. SWAT team in-charge Ajay Verma and Head Constable Durg Vijay were also injured in the encounter.
Dacoit Dharamveer had 16 cases registered against him in Mathura, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan, including robbery, attempted murder, snatching, and theft. Pappu, meanwhile, has 11 cases registered against him, including robbery, in Meerut, Firozabad, Mathura, Haryana, and Delhi.
SSP Shlok Kumar said, “The police had registered an FIR in the case of robbery in Surir police station area and were searching for the criminals. After this, the criminals also committed crimes in Noida, Khair, Delhi, Palwal and Rewari. Meanwhile, the police came to know about their movement last night. Dacoit Rajendra had 11 cases registered against him and Dharamveer had 16 cases registered against him including theft, robbery and dacoity. They used to commit crimes by changing their names. They had also gone to jail many times. Some money and jewellery from the goods taken in the robbery have been recovered from them.”
